State Leadership Action
Next Step for Arkansas’ Future
Source: Arkansas Department of Education
This website explains the need for high school redesign and promotes Arkansas's SmartCore Curriculum - new, rigorous high school graduation requirements - as the key to creating successful high school graduates who are prepared to move on to college or careers. SmartCore is Arkansas’s response to the nationwide push for high school redesign and will be implemented with the graduating class of 2010. The website is divided into sections for educators, students, business, and partners. Each section includes a video introduction by one of the respective stakeholders, highlights how the SmartCore applies to each group, and also provides supporting data and relevant resources.

This website, which strategically tailors each section to its respective audience, could be used as a model for other state education agencies that want to communicate targeted information and build buy-in among their stakeholders.
