Postsecondary Transitions
College Readiness For All Toolbox
Source: The Pathways to College Network Date: 2007
The Pathways to College Network's Toolbox is divided into four main areas. The Framework section outlines the Network's framework for improving postsecondary preparation and access; the main framework components are high expectations, data use, academic rigor and support, social support, P-16 Alignment, and context for change. The Tools section includes self-assessments, videos, glossaries, and other resources organized according to their purpose, from raising awareness to implementation. The Lessons Learned section includes research findings and examples and stories of best practices. The final section includes a wealth of additional resources and links.

This Toolbox would be helpful for states that want to ensure their high schools are preparing students for postsecondary success.

Background and Context
In many states, recent legislation or gubernatorial priorities have focused attention on increasing access for high school students to post-secondary options. Small learning communities, advisory systems, individual learning plans, AP and IB classes, dual enrollment programs, exit exams, and the push to increase rigor of high school classes and graduation requirements are approaches states use to guide students through graduation and help them make successful transitions into college.
