The Ready Set Go! website project is a joint effort of the Massachusetts Department of Education and the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education to improve high school graduation rates and increase college readiness throughout the Commonwealth. The website outlines the basic steps to help students prepare for college. The steps include: planning for the future as early as middle school; taking the right classes and getting involved; taking the necessary exams; involving parents and family; working with high school counselors; learning about admissions; applying early for financial aid, scholarships and grants; finding the right college; and ultimately staying in college by using the skills developed in college preparation. This interactive website is designed for students and could serve as a model to be introduced into other states.

Background and Context
Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) are personalized student education plans that include information such as high school courses, post- secondary education and career interests, and extracurricular activities.  State approaches to developing and implementing ILPs are as varied as the information that goes into them. But even with those differences, common purposes and similar challenges drive states to require their students to complete ILPs.
