This Web page provides information and a host of resources that relate to Kentucky's online Individual Learning Plan system. Kentucky's system helps secondary students better focus their coursework on individual goals as they prepare for postsecondary studies and careers. The system uses a robust online interface that allows a student's learning plan to be at the fingertips of students, parents and teachers. Featured on this site are a powerpoint presentation that gives an overview of the ILP system and its various features. Also included are ILP implementation tools and completion standards, which would be useful for any state seeking to implement an ILP system. Another helpful resource on the page is a listing of documents that explain how the ILP can be used by students, parents, and teachers, as well as activities that can help schools and individuals become better acquainted with the ILP system.

Background and Context
Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) are personalized student education plans that include information such as high school courses, post- secondary education and career interests, and extracurricular activities.  State approaches to developing and implementing ILPs are as varied as the information that goes into them. But even with those differences, common purposes and similar challenges drive states to require their students to complete ILPs.
