Advanced Search

The Secondary School Redesign portal search supports a variety of advanced search options.

The default search is an OR search. For example, a search on Supporting Instruction will return the documents that have either Supporting or Instruction in the text or descriptive data about the resource.

To be more specific in your search try:

  • AND between words.  A search on Supporting AND Instruction will return the documents that contain both the terms Supporting and Instruction.
  • Quotation marks ("").  A search on "Supporting Instruction"  will return documents with the complete phrase Supporting Instruction.
  • Wild Card Search (*).  Place an * at the beginning or end of a word for a wildcard search. For example a search with small* will return resources with the words small or smaller.
  • Fuzzy search (~). Use the tilde ~ for a fuzzy search.  For example, to search for a word similar in spelling to "roam" use the search:  roam~  .  This will find words such as foam, roams, etc.
